Theme: “Parents & Teachers Matter”
Goals/Objectives
Participants will:
- Learn a step-by-step process for weaving language & literacy into Family Life
- Illustrate how standard practices support Family Literacy
- Identify gaps in instruction and achievement in literate environments
- Engage in best practices & experiential activities promoting Family Literacy
MOE has implemented new standards, making it necessary to understand the new policy direction for the “Certified Literate” measure of literacy. This workshop will align content, instruction, and assessments with those standards.
These workshops will also help introduce elements of a shared experience, communication that encourages while promoting interest and discussion to help families approach literacy from a positive perspective.
